Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

O ye who believe! spend out of what We have bestowed on you before the day comes wherein there shall be no buying and selling, nor friendship, nor intercession; and it is those who disbelieve that do wrong to themselves. (2:255)

The Promised Messiah (AS) said:

“The revival of Islam requires a sacrifice from us. What is that sacrifice? It is to die striving in this path, upon which the life of Islam, the life of Muslims, and the manifestation of Allah depends. This, in other words, is Islam.”

The Lajna Finance Department oversees all finance or money related matters related to Lajna and Nasirat. This includes:
1. Explaining the importance of financial sacrifice and the Chanda categories
2. Educating and encouraging Lajna to pay towards their obligatory Chanda
3. Collection of Lajna and Nasirat Chanda.
4. Collation of all branch and other Income/ Expenses incurred by Lajna including payment of those expenses.
5. Preparing a Lajna expenditure Budget and Reporting of the Income and Expenses against the budget to Lajna Sadr.
6. Each Majlis has a dedicated Finance Secretary who will educate their majalis and collect Chanda. They will deal with all finance related matters at the local level and report this to the National Team.
7. Lajna also has external legal reporting requirements as it is a registered Charity. Accounts are prepared for external examination and submission to the Charity Commission.

Zakāt

Sadqah

Sadqah is a voluntary donation which goes to any poor or needy person. SaSadqah can be given at any time and in any amount.

Examples of Financial Sacrifice

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) often mentions the financial sacrifice made by young Ahmadis towards the blessed schemes of Tehrike Jadid and Waqfe Jadid.

Huzoor (aba) narrated the story of a young girl from India. She was an eight year old girl, who would take spare change from her father every day and collect it in her money box. Upon learning about financial sacrifice, she presented her money box which had a total of more than eight hundred rupees which she had gathered over many months. Huzoor (aba) commented that even children present such sincere sacrifices.
